Dr. Li is a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and a Nationally Board Certified Herbalist, with over 30 years of experience. In 1976, Dr. Li graduated from the Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), one of the most renowned medical schools in China. Following his graduation, Dr. Li worked as a resident physician for internal medicine at the City of Guangdong Hospital integrating both western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine in order to heal patients. In 1982, Dr Li received a specialized degree for intensive study, specializing in acupuncture and the treatment of digestive disorders.
Throughout his many years of practice, Dr Li has encountered and helped to heal many patients with challenging illnesses. Dr Li has helped patients with Post-Stroke Syndrome, Depression, Asthma, Chronic Colitis, Irritable Bowel Syndrome(IBS), Prostatitis, Benign Prostatic hyperplasia(BHP), Raynaud’s Synrome(RD), Fibromyalgia, Fibroid, Sinusitis, Bladder and Kidney Stones, Menstruation Disorders, Allergy and Skin Disorders.
Dr Li’s techniques have been able to help cancer patients counter the side-effects of radiation and chemotherapy by boosting the amount of T-Cells, red blood cells and white blood cells. Dr Li has also successfully helped patients overcome Lupus and other autoimmune disorders. Many of Dr. Li’s techniques have also proven extremely useful when working with reproductive disorders and miscarriages. One of Dr. Li’s specialities is to improve the effectiveness of different procedures such as IVF and IUI .
Dr. Li is continuing in the footsteps of his father, Wen Xian Li, one of the most famous researchers of acupuncture techniques in China. In 1991, his father was honored as one of the top acupuncturist in China, recognized for being the first person to ever write a book on Needle Picking Therapy. In 1998, his father was recognized in the book, Scientific Chinese – Talent’s Bank of Chinese Experts, a book detailing individuals who are recognized as the country’s treasures for their contribution within their respective professions.
As the son of one of the most respected and nationally recognized acupuncturists in China, Dr. Li has been able to learn a lot of different and unique acupuncture theories and techniques. Dr Li assisted his father in writing 5 books about different facets of acupuncture and helped create the original of the Acupuncture Wall Chart, Sketch Chart of the Ear Acupoints, Sketch Chart of the Foot Reflexive Zones and the Sketch Chart of the Hand Reflective Zones which are still being used worldwide.
